What is Maritime Adventures Camp

Maritime Adventures Camp, also known as MAC, is a one week summer camp for children ages 6-15 with bleeding disorders. It is currently located at Mount Traber Camp in Cooks Brook, NS.

History

Prior to 2004, children with bleeding disorders attended Camp Goodtime, a camp run by the Canadian Cancer Society in partnership with the Canadian Hemophilia Society Nova Scotia Chapter and held at Yarmouth YMCA’s Camp Wapomeo, Camp Rotary, and Salvation Army Scotian Glen Camp. Starting in 2004, the Canadian Hemophilia Society branched off and started Maritime Adventures Camp. The very first MAC was held in Camp Rotary in Grand Lake, NB. In 2005, the camp moved to the Salvation Army Scotian Glen Camp, and in 2007 the camp moved to Mount Traber Camp.
